In the amount of time it will take you to read these words...

you could have sustained yourself with a CHOOD meal.

ABOUT US

File_008.jpeg

The CHOOD family is comprised of modern-day nomads, adventurers, athletes, parents, and health fanatics. And like you, we know how precious time can be, so we've built the finest team of world-class dietitians, chemical and molecular biologists, and nutritionists to research, develop, and perfect the ancient form of food preparation that has provided a healthy lifestyle for men and women, young and old, for centuries:

PREMASTICATION

It's a funny word, isn't it? But what is it exactly?

Put simply, it's eating food chewed by another person. "Ewwww" you say? Don't worry! That's a perfectly natural reaction. Just like eating bugs may sound strange to you, people eat insects all over the world... and they love it! Do you like sushi? Well, not too long ago, eating raw fish was considered outrageous.

Our culture is evolving at a breakneck pace and with it, our diets. So although premastication is the most talked-about leap forward in food consumption in decades, the irony is that it returns us to a form of eating practiced centuries before we were ever born.

WHAT'S OLD IS NEW

Written records of premastication have been found in Ancient Egypt, though the practice likely extends back into prehistoric times to our non-human ancestors. For instance, in the Ancient Egyptian Ebers medical papyrus, a mother delivered a medical remedy to a child through premastication. In the fifth century A.D. Roman culture, premastication of infant food by caretakers was also common. In Medieval Europe, infants were fed an assortment of mashed, premasticated food or bread softened with liquids.

Although less prevalent in modern post-industrial Western societies, the offering of premasticated foods to infants is found in many traditional cultures, and offers their infants numerous benefits that we at CHOOD have harnessed for all ages.

OPEN MINDS, OPEN MOUTHS

Many Western societies have a strong aversion toward premastication, not unlike similar criticism of breastfeeding, seen only as performed by the uneducated lower classes and Third World countries.

But just like the archaic take on breastfeeding, the public is finally recognizing that preconceived notions about premastication are outdated. We can safely recognize and accept its undeniable health benefits.

Do you have the courage to shake off hundreds of years of ignorant bias and try something old?

It's your life. CHOOD wisely.
